A few months ago, my daughter convinced me to allow her to have a sleepover party for her 11th birthday. I was reluctant, but ultimately gave in knowing this was our last year in this school district and she was moving on to middle school and new changes soon. (Reminder:It’s not about you, Mom).
So, I decided that the best way to get through the party was to keep them engaged. I bought some age appropriate games, decided on food and beverages, and came up with a DIY craft idea that I thought the girls would love.
This is a spin-off idea that I used from a previous DIY project I did for my cousins with the exception of the items used to decorate. Either way, it was a hit.
Each girl chose a bucket and sticker style.

This year, I decided that the holidays would be spent very differently than what I am traditionally used to. For the Thanksgiving holiday, I spent time relaxing poolside in Orlando with family. I was not interested in slaving in the kitchen and then begging my kiddos to help clean up afterward. So, it worked out perfectly that I was able to join my extended family on a wonderful mini-vacation.
After having this amazing experience, Tamara and I set out to do somethingsimilar, but in a different city. We set our minds on Savannah and made it happen.
Our first full day there was on Christmas Eve. We set out for a day of adventure. We got lost exploring the historic district while taking pictures of our surroundings. There were so many amazing images tocapture.

I am writing this blog post during a perfect time of year for me. My kiddos are away with their dad for a week which means the house is quiet. Meditation music is playing. Candles are lit. My yoga mat is in the middle of the floor. Pure bliss!!
Well, today is the first day of a 3 day detox that I am embarking on as Iprepare my mind and body for the new year. This is an ideal time to lay the foundation for transformational experiences in 2017.
